As many of you know, the East Rift Zone of Kilauea has been very active in the lower Puna region. While the eruption is making headline news, the reality is that it is impacting roughly 10 square miles on an island that is approximately 4000 square miles in size and 100 miles away from Kona and the Kohala coasts. If you are considering coming to the Big Island, we want to encourage all of you to make and keep your reservations. Aside from minor increases in vog, there has been no adverse impact on the West side of the Big Island and it is safe for travel.
